As the expansion committee, we have three main goals we wish to achieve. Under each of these goals is three objectives to help reach the goal. The first goal we wish to achieve is to increase profits for the NFL. The three objectives pertaining to this goal are to increase Charger ticket sales 15%, by August 2020, sell over 500,000 pieces of London Charger merchandise by May 2019, and sell out Wembley Stadium for at least five of the scheduled eight home games. The second goal, is to gain more fans of the NFL/Chargers. Gaining fans is something we value and is at the heart of our mission. Three objectives to reach this goal include gain of 100,000 subscribers to the NFL network within two months of relocating, have a London Charger player be on the cover of the Madden Sports video game by August 2021, and have at least 20,000 people …show more content…
When looking at the current climate and the state of the league, we inquired about moving an NFL team to a new market. We believe that London, England was the most feasible option. Our final decision is that we recommend a move of the L.A Chargers to London. We have reached this decision after careful evaluation and assessment of the market. The SWOT analysis helped show the strengths of moving there such as a strong economy, large sports culture, and giant stadium. Weaknesses, like the fact that an NFL team was never in London also was considered and given due weight. Opportunities, along with threats like terrorism, and soccer being so popular are the two final components of the SWOT analysis we conducted. The PEST factors such as new innovative Wembley Stadium technology, and the cultural benefits the city of London will receive in hosting an NFL franchise also played a role in our final decision. We used important data like the fact that London makes up for 22% of the UK’s domestic product. This shows that the economy in London is thriving and could easily support an NFL
