Imagine a teenager everyday forced to follow the law, every single day but when it comes time to vote they are deprived the right to speak their opinion and forced to wait years to do so. This is the situation is for many teens across America because the voting age is eighteen. The age is way to high and it prevents teenagers expressing their opinion on who could be president and other government figures. The voting age should be lowered to thirteen because we should be able to express our opinion, if we are forced to follow the rules like adults we should be able to vote like them, and teenagers have been less exposed to stereotypes. Teenagers should be able to vote because it is expressing their opinion and you have the freedom to do so. First off, not letting teenagers to vote goes directly against the first amendment. They think that when teenagers have the responsibility to vote they will use it to joke around and choose the wrong person to be president. But they wouldn’t do that because they don’t want America to go into a crisis. Teens care about what environment they live in and they wouldn’t choose the wrong president. Some teens are also very educated about the government and letting them vote would help the most qualified president to be chosen. Also, there are many unique perspectives that kids have that adults have so the government poles get more perspectives in the votes so there are more of a variety of answers. This way there are different ways people look at the candidate so the candidate will be a mix of what the teens and the adults want so you are getting the best of both worlds. This will also help getting the best president.
