I. Texting and driving has caused several wreaks in past years. Something to be done to put the act of texting and driving on ice.
A. Someone may react poorly to things happening on the highway (“Texting at the light” p. 2 of 5).
1. Drivers may be involved in an accident due to him or her not paying attention (“Texting at the light”).
2. Laws against texting and driving have been put into place to reduce the dangerous act.
B. Wrecks are becoming more associated with texting and driving as the years past.
C. Texting while driving is very dangerous to the public.
II. Discus problem
1. Who- James J. Bernstein, a student of a university in Pennsylvania conducted an observation concerning driving while texting. (“Texting at the light”).

Steps to implement the solution:
A. The first in the solution would be composing a petition. Then, getting people of the community to sign it, the petition then would have to be sent to that state’s representative. Finally, he or she would have to come to a decision on whether to turn it into a bill.
B. First, in order to track and keep up with said solution, law enforcement would have to crack down on anyone physically using his or her phone. In addition, the police department would have to keep records of how many violators’ licenses were revoked. The dispatch would also have to keep up with how many wrecks occurred each day.
V. Obstacles/ weaknesses:
A. When a new law is implemented, there is always going to be controversy over that law. Citizens are going to disagree with the new law.
VI. Conclusion:
A. The solution may make several people anger; however, the lives that the solution would save would be far more important than someone’s feelings getting hurt.
B. In order to continue checking the progress of the solution, the police department could have a monthly meeting to see how well the new implemented solution is
