More About Me
To start I want to give everyone reading this a little more information about me; I grew up in and around the Milwaukee area, so I?ve lived near a big city my whole life. Though I?ve always been exposed to a city atmosphere most of my life I still managed to fall in love with the outdoors in all seasons. I?ve always enjoyed summer activities such as kayaking, hiking, golfing, and other outdoor activities; However, my favorite outdoor sport/activity would have to be snowboarding.
When I was 12 years old I was able to finally convince my parents to buy me a snowboard and allow me to try the sport that so many of my friends were doing to ?kill? time during what most consider the boring winter months. When I first strapped on my boots

Urban snowboarding is usually done within a city and not necessarily on hills. If a rider is snowboarding in a city where a hill isn?t present, they are usually doing so to attempt tricks that incorporate city structures. This type of snowboarding is not for the enjoyment of cruising down a mountain at top speeds, but rather to try tricks that in a setting that makes snowboarding more difficult. Since city riding is not on a hill, riders will need to be assisted by bungee ropes or snowmobiles to allow the rider to gain speed so that they can perform tricks, such as jumping onto and riding down a 25-foot handrail. Though urban riding may not be as dangerous as backcountry snowboarding, riders should always ensure they are in an area that they are not going to get into trouble with a business or the law for riding where they shouldn?t be.

The sport allows creativity among the participants and is constantly changing and developing new styles, boards, and tricks. That is one of the reason I love the sport so much, because it allows the rider to determine what he or she is comfortable with and allows them to do things they never thought they would be able to do, or others thought they would be able to do. A great example of this would be people like Shaun White, who is constantly changing his style and developing new tricks to keep fans interested. Without pioneers like him this sport would not be at the caliber that it is at
