Homelessness is the condition of people without a permanent dwelling. People who are homeless are most frequently unable to obtain and preserve a systematic, safe, secure and adequate housing. Besides their underprivileged life they are constantly getting hammered by cruel stereotypes; for instance, they are marginalised as violent and fraudulent individuals, but is this really actuality, or just the way the media make it look? The effects of these stereotypes reinforced by the mainstream media, impact the homeless in an unimaginable way, even Death! An example being, Homeless people intentionally commit crimes to go back to prison and Homeless man gets shot and killed for just resisting arrest by the brutal police. This failure in humanity is caused by the medias sly uses of Gaps and Silences and Marginalisation.

It’s quite simply he did what he had to do to survive as he couldn’t spend another sleepless night on the streets as the article articulates. Firstly, the media characterize the man as despite and use words like unfortunate, saddened, hungry and homeless manipulate the read to believe the ideology of the author; This then positons the reader to see the man’s actions as positive. Additionally, the author adds in dialogue by judge of the man’s court case, for example “While I am personally saddened by Mr. Brown's plight”; the readers and worlds perspective will be challenged by the fact that a man of statue has concurred with the man but not with his actions. The viewer will now see a help man we no further options but commit a crime to be a more privileged
