It is a sin to kill a mockingbird, since all it does is sing beautiful music for us to enjoy, it does not make holes in your yard or destroy your flowers, all it does is sing. In To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Tom Robinson and Boo Radley have characteristics in common and are both similar to mockingbirds. Tom Robinson, a black young man who lives with his wife, Helen, and their children in the Negro settlement beyond the town dump and the Ewells family, a very poor family. He works for Mr. Link Deas and is accused of raping Mayella Ewell. Defended by Atticus Finch, he is convicted and has to be killed although he is innocent and the jury knows it. Arthur Radley, named Boo by the neighboring kids has been locked up in his house for 25 years, and watches Scout Finch and Jem Finch play outside, while he is locked up inside. Scout and Jem accompanied by Dill, a friend that comes every summer, are intrigued by Boo and imagine stories about the Radley place and are scared of it and Boo, and never go on its front yard. Tom Robinson helping Mayella all the time is like the mockingbird singing all day so everyone can enjoy its music. He innocent since he never cheated on his wife, never stole anything and never caused trouble to Mr. Link Deas he is as innocent as a mockingbird. He is innocent and clean until then and Mayella did the sin to kill a mockingbird symbolically and literally since she gets Tom killed after the trial and after killing his innocence. Boo is generous like a mockingbird since he always gives things to Jem and Scout and when Bob Ewell, Mayella’s father, wants to kill them he risk his life and being in open in public to save Jem and Scout.
