Violence in the media can cause many problems with young people as they grow older. In the video that I viewed, the results of many studies was shared and it allowed the scale of the problem to be realized. I agree whole-heartedly, the problem with violence in the media is growing unmanageable. I believe that violent programs affect your family and everyone close to you. The video that I viewed was titled, New study: Children's TV viewing affects behavior, and I accessed the video on YouTube. The video presented information on how violent television programs can affect children. It charged parents and guardians to take control over what their children view in their home. It presented the argument that TV violence really can affect the behaviors and emotions of an underdeveloped person. I absolutely agree with the message of the video because I have viewed firsthand the effects on children of watching violent programs. This is a strong video because of the arguments that are presented. Statistics and facts are shared that are, quite frankly, startling. Throughout the video, the narrator sounds concerned, this provides more of an emotional impact and a realization of the gravity of situation. It showed that those who watched more television were less sympathetic, more fearful of the world around them, and more likely to be aggressive. They were also more likely to be arrested as adults.
