Violent Video Games Do Not Cause Violence

Video games do not cause violence in kids or teens. There is barely any real evidence to prove violence is enhanced by video games. Video games have been around for years, kids, adults, and teenagers all find enjoyment out of them. However, many people think that the increasing rate of violent acts is due to kids growing up playing violent games. This statement is not true, though, and here's why. Most violent acts that are carried out are by adults. There are a couple of cases that have occured that have been "linked" to violent video games. However, they are done by adults, not children. "The 18 year old gunman who kiled nine people in Munich, Germany on Firday was a fan of first-person shooter video games, according to reports." This man was an adult, not only that but there is no evidence that his liking for a certain genre of video games caused this. There could very well be other reasoning for this type of action, but they chose to look at his preference of game. Another states, "On the morning of August 12, 2013, nearly 8 months after 20 year old Adam Lanza shot his way into Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newton..." Another states, "A study conducted in 2014..." With most of these articles, there isn't much evidence of it being true. One says that children can be seen fighting on the playground, but this could very well be children play fighting.
