In the Odyssey, the journey of Odysseus told the story of Odysseus travels and the adverse characters he encountered along his way back to Ithaca. He was a very strong and brave man who was weak when it came to love. But he allowed his desire to reach his home to be his entire focus. He had been away from his home for ten years and in that time, his wife had encountered many suitors but she had not succumbed to their proposals to spend time with her because she was awaiting her husbands arrival. Odysseus unfortunately was not as faithful and moral as his wife. He had been put under a love spell and fell in love with Calypso until the Goddess of love released the attraction to her, then he went back to his travels and she died from a broken heart. During his travels he encountered the Cyclops and killed him angering the god of sea posiden. His entire goal was to sail back to his home in Ithaca to his wife to be with her. Upon coming home he saw there were many men that tried to spend time with her and that she also had 12 maidservants that were spying on the suitors.
