Technology is fascinating and impressive. With technology, we are able to do incredible things from communicating with loved ones across the globe with just a push of a button to having light in the darkness with a flip of a switch. While technology is extraordinary it has caused many complications in the world. One example of how technology would be a complication would be imperialism. In the 17th-19th century technology was booming, especially in Europe, this started the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution started a higher demand for raw material such as: coal, oil, lumber, etc. This lead to the European Imperialism. With Europe’s wealth from the Industrial Revolution, Europe wanted more control and power which resulted in war. This is only one example of how imperialism and technology have contributed to war.
The author, H.G. wells agrees that technology and imperialism are a problem. H.G. Wells has written over 114 books and 50 novels, in those novels he has expressed his hatred towards technology and imperialism, he expresses this especially in his book, The War of the Worlds.
