Why Guns Should Not Be Banned

Guns is the biggest issues in today's society. Because of Guns, thousands of people die every year, in many countries. United State is one of them; which has increased the crime rates in past couple of years, because of the increasing number of guns sales. Most people believe that Guns can increase the crime rate because many people have seen deaths related to gun violence. While some say that gun should not ban because the police officer can not be present everywhere at all time to protect them. However, three main reasons behind the gun violence are a background check, bullying, and substance abuse.
Background check, it may sound insignificant but is one of the reasons behind gun violence. Although the government has a law that required the gun store to do a background check for a person who is buying a gun, however sometimes gun store does not have a complete background check information. By having incomplete information of the person who they sell gun can lead to danger for others. Even though complete background information would not stop gun violence because personal gun collector does not require to do a background check (Helmke 551). The author Faria says “Citizens to assume some responsibility for protecting themselves, their families, and their property from criminal elements because the police cannot physically be everywhere to protect us all of the time.” I do agree with the author but not completely because he is trying to say that people should have guns so they can protect their, families; If that was true then the US should be the safest country in the
