Should schools start later in the morning?

If you want to have a really good answer, then let's look at the facts behind schools starting later. Well, let's start with the benefits. Most teens do not get the recommended amount of 8-12 hours of sleep, and not enough sleep can lead to many negative health consequences that could affect students' ability to learn effectively and efficiently at school. Many experts advocate starting later, sometimes an hour later or longer, so students can get the sleep they need. Actually California has already taken action, they have mandated a later starting time and other states and cities are looking into it and monitoring the impact of the law before they do anything, furthermore the AAP also known as the American Academy of Pediatrics backup the facts by saying that schools shouldn’t start even late as 8 in the morning because it’s a little early, they think 8:30AM or later so it gives students a better chance get the sleep they should have and need.
