The proposed leadership structure is that of a co-facilitated group. This is advantageous for two reasons. Firsty, It's assumed that many of the benefits that members will get from the group are those that come from interacting with members who have valuable experience and information to share, and to that extent the group's aims will be achieved by encouraging this. Having group members assume leadership roles will help group members identify with the leadership (-----) which will be conducive to referent power rather than coercive power (-------), and help the facilitator to be perceived as a member of the group he or she is attempting to lead (------).

A community centre may provide ample space and would accommodate toilets and have the facilities for tea and coffee. As allan points out different rooms all come with connotations (allan), so if possible, rooms with a clinical connotation such as hospital rooms or medical centres will be avoided to help members feel at ease. It would be beneficial if the room can be booked for the duration of the group as disruptions to location mid-group can have deleterious consequences to people's sense of security (------).
