Affordable vision plans allow people to choose between glasses and contact lenses to remedy impaired eyesight. Whether one chooses glasses or contact lenses mostly depends on personal preference and lifestyle. Those with poor vision and active lifestyles may find contacts more practical. However, contact lenses require extra time and effort to keep clean to decrease the risk of infections or other eye problems.
Pros and cons of glasses

Glasses don't require the user to touch the eye, so eliminate the risk of infection and irritation. Those with sensitive or dry eyes may find glasses to be a better fit. Glasses don't require replacement as often as contact lenses do, and the cleaning process is quick and simple. Some find they love the look …show more content…
An improper fit can cause discomfort and headaches. Weather conditions can cause annoying fog or water droplets that distort vision. Peripheral vision can be compromised, too. Some individuals feel glasses magnify their eyes or hide too much of the face. For these people, contacts may be a better fit.
Pros and cons of contact lenses

Contacts can be worn all day long, regardless of activity. They won't clash with outfits or be impacted by daily weather. Because they conform to the shape of the eye, vision correction may be superior from all angles. Contact lenses come in different colors, too, to allow for temporary change in eye color appearance. Some brands can be worn continuously for up to a month!

Unfortunately, contacts usually require daily upkeep to keep the process hygienic and safe. If daily cleaning isn't a possibility, it is recommended to look into extended wear brands or daily disposables to reduce the risk of eye infections. Some have trouble applying contact lenses, and some practice is required. They can also worsen the symptoms of dry, red or irritated eyes and computer vision
