Apple Inc. and Walt Disney Co. have a very great impact in their communities of Northern and Southern California. Being two of the most iconic companies in not only California, but the world, their role in taking part of helping the community is beneficial in a huge way. Apple Inc. greatly impacts their community with new technology, but Walt Disney Co. impacts their community with love and joy that lasts a lifetime.

Apple inc. and Walt Disney Co. are both severe providers of happiness and helpfulness in Northern and Southern California. Although they both bring happiness to their community, they do it very different ways. “The Disney Wish Program is a collaboration between the Disneyland Resort and approved nonprofit wish-granting organizations that make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions”(Learned from Disney). More than 750 wishes are granted each year at the Resort, with unimaginable memories made with each visit. These visits by kids with life threatening conditions can be the difference in a sad kid who is in need of happiness and a kid whose life is made by a trip to the happiest place on the earth. Disney’s history of wish granting began when Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park and hosted children from around the world. Apple is said to be taking steps to make its iPhone and iPad more user friendly for people with disabilities. Since the products all use touch screens, some with visual or mobility impairments can have trouble with the devices; however, “Apple has said it is seeking to patent a method for connecting iOS devices to accessories that could act in place of a touch screen. A person with a mobility impairment could, for example, use a joystick to control an iOS device”(Inside Apple). Or an individual who is visually impaired could “see” the screen using a braille attachment.
