Introduction

This paper covers about the basics ergonomic procedures, Companies seek to improve the quality of life and its workers. Differents research areas are being created to study the behavior and health of the worker, environmental risks in certain functions and / or tasks. One of them is ergonomic which studies how people work in order to improve comfort, productivity and their health. Therefore, this article is intended to highlight the general importance of ergonomics’ study of the worker health. It also seeks to achieve the following objectives: define ergonomics and its influence on companies, identify the practical applicability of ergonomics to companies, points out the benefits of ergonomics to improve the physical posture of the worker. – To achieve these objectives was developed a theoretical framework, seeking to present different authors about ergonomics.

Technical terms of definitions of basic ergonomic procedures

The International Ergonomics Association divides ergonomics in three areas of specialization 3. Are they:

Physical Ergonomics: dealing with the responses of the human body to physical and psychological burden. Relevant topics include material handling, physical arrangement of workstations, work demands and factors such as repetition, vibration, strength and static posture, related to musculoskeletal disorders. (See repetitive strain injury).

Cognitive Ergonomics: also known psychological engineering, refers to mental processes such as perception, attention, cognition, motor control and memory storage and retrieval, as they affect interactions among humans and other elements of a system. Relevant topics include mental workload, monitoring, decision making, skills, performance, human error, human-computer interaction and training.

Organizational Ergonomics: macroergonomics or related to the optimization of socio-technical systems, including its organizational structure, policies and processes. Relevant topics include shift work, job scheduling, job satisfaction, motivational theory, supervision, teamwork, teleworking and ethics.
