About 60,000 veterinarians are employed right now, many work studying in universities, or working in a zoo, or on a farm, but most veterinarians work in a vet clinic (Ferguson 164). The only way to become a veterinarian is by going to vet school, and the way that vet school is set up is to help their graduates get employed straight out of college (Ferguson 164). If you cannot find a job right away, you can also try getting an internship at a vet office, or a zoo (Ferguson 164). Veterinarians on average work about 50 hours a week, but their work schedule will vary weekly depending on the tragedy's that occur, and all the long nights in the clinic helping to save lives (Ferguson 164).
