Boycotting is done when the pulling out or suppression of conducting business of goods or services with other countries in which they encourage others at times to do the same in some occasions. This sometimes comes with ethical and legal concerns that have both good and bad influences on the nation that is for or against the boycott. There are two types of boycotting and the first was defined in the beginning but the most preferred type in the U.S. is the secondary type. This type of boycotting consist of standing up against an issue and legally protesting it in a non-aggressive means that cannot be stopped by either local law or government. With many other forms of higher levels of government that are already corrupted are primary targets that should be on top of the list. Author D. Chow wrote that “Corrupt governments in many of these countries — in particular, China — protect or support counterfeiters that harm their businesses and the global economy.“(Chow, 2011) Chow feels that with countries hiding pirate trade and counterfeiting rings are the reason why they exist. “Interdict illegal technology exports through improved detection, increased cooperation with the private sector, and heightened sanctions.”(N.A., 1998) These are other measures that can be taken to help find and put an end to counterfeiters. Problems that come with counterfeiting hit all areas of minor to major risk factors that can also impact health and personal lifestyle. “Some counterfeit goods, such as foods and drugs, contain substandard and dangerous ingredients that lead to health and safety hazards. Illness and death from counterfeit foods and medicines occur disproportionately in developing countries and least-developed countries, and rarely occur in advanced developed countries, such as the United States. In developing countries where counterfeiting occurs, there is an increase in organized crime, government corruption, and health and safety issues.”(Chow, 2011) If there is some form of compliance with governments and forms of law enforcement alike, there can be a way to slow or stop counterfeiters altogether. This is how the WTO and others that share the common interest can form to put an end to it. “Government agencies will also continue to work closely with the private sector to find cost-effective solutions and to educate consumers about the threat these counterfeit and pirated goods pose in order to stop the flow of infringing
