John Locke believed that countries that have capitalism with a shared good would be successful, in contrast to Karl Marx’s beliefs that capitalism was a cruel system and had corrupted people for the benefit of the rich (Velasquez, 2011). Locke’s opinions on property rights and labor have been influential in the United States. Additionally, Locke stated that when a person makes or produces something he or she obtains property rights over that object, triggering many laws on the subject of property and ownership (Velasquez, 2011). Adam Smith’s influences rest on useful ideas that free markets and private property will create better benefits than any system. Individuals will seek their own interests in a free markets, getting led to promote the
