The Columbian Exchange was yet another form of globalization, consisting mostly of Europe, Africa and the Americas. The Columbian Exchange led to numerous things, the spread of disease, cultural oppression, resource trade, the transatlantic slave trade and even colonization. Although the Columbian Exchange started in the late 1400’s, there wasn’t really an ‘end’ to it, and we still see its effects today. Trade was a huge part of the Columbian Exchange, potatoes, rice, wheat, sugar, honey, bananas, etc, were all traded from different places around the world.
