Through this semester the amount of knowledge that I have gain in my psychology class is countless because so far the four chapters that we have been go through contains lots of new information for me. As through the life span there are many physiological, cognitive, emotional and social developments and stages in the periods of development, it is difficult to narrow the topics to talk about a specific period of the human developmental period. The most important thing that I learned at the begging of this class is that there are different periods of development that are distributed in different time frames during the life of a person, and that is characterized for certain features and qualities. And Bouchard, Thomas J., Jr called Behavior Genetics, that explain that chromosome abnormalities are present when there is an extra X or Y chromosome. In each type of anomaly the features are different. For example the Down syndrome has an extra copy in the chromosome 21, or the XYY syndrome that can cause above-average height. In the book “Journey across the life spam” by Elain U. Polan there is a clear description of some of this things that may be a danger for the newly formed entity. It is reasonable that if a future pregnant women practices a good health it will contribute to the development of a healthier baby, but it is also important that a pregnant woman stays inform about every little thing that can lead to serious complications. For instance it is well know that the quality of the mother’s diet affects her health and that of her baby, also a balance of rest and exercise it is important for a healthy pregnancy. It is very important that during pregnancy, the woman still do exercise regularly before, during and after pregnancy. One of the best options for exercise is walking; women should be encouraged to walk daily. But it is also important for all pregnant women to check first with their physician, in case that they might have any problem realizing any type of exercise, in the case of a delicate pregnancy. It is important to remember that the mother and the baby share the same blood and that substances can be transmitted from the mother to the developing baby through the placenta.
