The classic novel, The Outsiders, was written by S.E. Hinton during the 1960’s. The actual book was published in 1967 and its target audiences are young adults and teenagers. This book was turned into a movie in the 1980’s due to a high demand from readers. At the time, very popular movie stars made up the cast which encouraged many to go see it. The book however, tells a better story than the movie.
