Throughout this semester i've learned a lot in this english class. Since the beginning of the semester i noticed that in this particular english class it would take a lot of effort and time. I honestly think that this english class is a good introduction to a college level english class. Coming out of high school i thought i was pretty good when it come to english class, I always got the grade i wanted in highschool when it came to english so i thought i had little to work on. Taking this English class i learned I had a lot to work on and a long way to go if i wanted to be the writer i thought i was. In high School when it came to writing we focused on the style with writing and doing it the correct way. When I came into this english class it was all about structuring your essay the correct way with a big emphasis on grammar, sentence structure and formation of a paragraph. Learning how to properly use words within sentences and put them in the correct place with the correct punctuation. This taught me how to use words to express myself in a grammatically correct way. Learning how to put your thoughts into a grammatically correct way isn't easy especially seeing how i've been writing the way i've been all my life. Even though the way i previously knew seemed correct, I knew that the challenge would only help me going forward. It all takes effort and commitment to what you’re trying to do, although i don't think my grade reflects the work i've put in during this semester. Ive put in a lot of effort and time into make shifting the way i write because if i kept doing what I was doing i know i wouldn't make the goals i had for myself.
