In Ayn Rand’s Anthem, It is set at the time around the 30’s and 40’s of the 1900’s, right before the cold war called World War 2, there were predictions that no other could come up with that could happen just years away, before they knew anything about WW2 happening or even having a thought about a whole nother Great War. That had so many things that could happen that involved years of hurt people. Based on the dark ages of the future, In a world that has no love, he couldn't love the women of his choice, at a time that has lost all trace of science to where they don't even know science, at a point to where they didn't have much of a civilization. No one would really have any clue what the difference between right and wrong is, at that time. The time this book is set in had so many things to come in the near future, years into the future. Equality 7-2521 future had so many things to come if he would dare to give out all this information. About what could happen and when it will happen the hearts of others knowing about another Great War could hurt them mentally and physically. The way Equality 7-2521 explained that your jobs were picked, how they treated the prisoners. The prisoners are mistreated in a way that no other person could even imagine.
