In the book Anthem by Ayn Rand, these rules exist, that are all about being equal, because Ayn Rand is trying to envision a world where socialism has take over. These rules exist in which everyone is equal because in socialism, people believe that wealth should be divided equally, like a doctor should make as much as a McDonald’s cashier for example. No matter how much you had to do and go through to get somewhere or something, someone that could have been sitting on their butt the entire time deserves it to. It’s all about sharing, not about individual success, not about I, me, or just yourself, it’s about we. That’s the basis of socialism. I honestly do not understand the part where men and women can’t interact with each other unless they are coming together for mating, and the “House of Mating.” I do not see how that has anything to do with socialism. I do not see anywhere in socialism from what I have seen saying that men and women should not be together, or any sexism to either male or female that would cause them to be separated. This book being based off of the world of socialism explains why they are so far back in technology. It is because the more technology, the easier means of communication, which would make it easier to expose how bad the current state of the world is. If I had to give a guess at the “Unmentionable Word,” I think it would be either I or capitalism, because capitalism was socialism’s mean threat and enemy, and I has everything to do with capitalism itself. The whole entire reason all of these rules and laws exist is to keep the socialist lifestyle in check and make sure that it stays absolutely flawless so it can not be destroyed, and when people tried to destroy it, it would be very tough and nearly
