Group Communication: In health and social care, lots of meetings and group talks take place when discussing situations or making important decisions. For example, when a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meeting takes place in a hospital to discuss a discharge package for a patient leaving the hospital after a long stay and serious operation. Group communication requires different communication skills than one-to-one does, we must learn to take turns in both speaking and listening as well as adapt to the type of size of group we’re speaking with. In my example, service users are more than likely to be present during the group meeting and therefore it would be important to make them feel of equal importance and power to that of the doctors and
