The average high school graduate GPA would be between 2.6 and 3.0. With seniors graduating soon I would think the motivation level would be medium since most people want to get good grades, while others would just be happy to graduate with passing. With seniors, the most important thing would be for them to graduate, there would be many opportunities in the real world like college, the military and even the work force. Going to college can mean continuing with a higher education after high school and going to the military can mean serving your country or can be a stable job. Also, joining the workforce could mean you getting ready to learn new skills, create goals and get ready for another step in life. Many factors that could influence a high …show more content…
For instance, “a commitment to higher learning that can make a student more competitive in the job market and qualify for careers” (“U.S. Career Institute going to college after high school”). Going to college to pursue higher learning can be beneficial when a degree shows how qualified you are with how much you’ve learned along the way. High schoolers can get influenced by how competitive the job market is, but if you go to college, it could make you more appealing to a job rather than someone with only a high school diploma. The evidence could show that the many opportunities and a chance to learn more is important to help you better understand how an average student could get a chance to explore and “climb the ladder.” For example, “man employers require two- or four-year degrees before they’ll consider job applicants for hire” (“U.S. Career Institute (USCI high school”). Some individuals may choose to enter the workforce right away instead of attending college in order to take advantage of the numerous advantages it offers for career progression. WGU shows how even if you don’t choose to go to college, many students choose to pursue their career goals. The evidence could influence a high school graduate by letting them understand how the real world works and how it works. You also shouldn’t let this influence your perspective of what to do after high school; you should take the time to research and explore other options. This is important to understand since its helpful to get experience, but even so, going to college gives you a smooth transition to college.
