I’m Alex Bohr and I welcome you to History as Fast as Possible. To begin, 4.6 billion years ago, the earth was said to have began. Out of those 4.6 billion years, it was only 2.5 million years ago that humans began to walk the earth. Those first humans originated out of Africa. Once they started to migrate, they went to every landmass, except the polar land regions. These first humans had well advanced technology for their time. Simple tools such as rocks and sticks used for hunting were what these humans possessed. It wasn’t until 750,000 years ago that fire was developed. The next huge civilization to occur in the world was the Egyptian Civilization. It was formed along the Nile River by 3,000 B.C.E. That civilization was influenced by the trade and technological influences of Mesopotamia. The Egyptian civilization differed from the culture of Mesopotamia, as Egypt was less open to invasion, is was a unified state for most of its history, and its economy was more government –directed. The Indian and Chinese River Valley Civilizations were formed 500 years after that of the Egyptian civilization. They were located along the Indus River. These civilizations traded very frequently with Mesopotamia. They also developed its own alphabet and artistic forms. The great cities of the Indus valley had a complex agricultural system; irrigation inferred the cultivation of wheat, rye, peas, cotton, and maybe rice. The major trading centers for the Harappa cities enhance with the use of riverboats and ox carts. They received Jade from China and Jewels from Burma. The Harappa stones that were manufactured in the Indus River Valley were found in the Mesopotamia region. This suggests that the Indus River civilization traded with Mesopotamia.
