Before 1947 you wouldn’t see any African Americans or Latino players playing on any of the Major League Baseball teams. Jackie Robinson changed it all. Jackie Robinson is a hero for the way he changed baseball .
One reason why Jackie is a hero is because he broke the color barrier in baseball. If he wouldn't have broke the color barrier in 1947, other people of color may not have had the guts to do what Jackie has done.In the text it states, “The first baseball player to break the color barrier in 60 years.” He was the first to break the color barrier so people of color were able to play sooner than if Jackie had not done it in his time.
