Martin Luther King Jr was born on January 15th, 1929. Martin Luther King lived a very depressing and uneventful early life. He suffered from very severe racism and segregation throughout his early years, and even as he got older. At the age of 12, Martin’s maternal grandmother died, due to health issues. Which lead him to attempting to kill himself. He even tried jumping out of a 2 story building, luckily he was able to survive. He grew up in Atlanta, and attended Booker T. Washington High School. There, he participated in his debate team , and became the leader. He was known at his school for his very impressive talking and public speaking skills. Everything was going well for Martin in During the Civil Rights movement many people looked up to Martin Luther King, Martin was able to captivate his audience by his peaceful approach to the movement and the movement wouldn’t have been the same without King promoting non-violence. Martin was a very successful person throughout his whole adult life, but everyone has to start from the bottom and work their way up to the top. But because he supported African Americans and helped them move up in society during that time, he received tons of death threats from White supremacist. On April 4th 1968, Martin was staying in Lorraine Motel in Memphis, where he was shot in the cheek, damaging major parts inside the body. Martin was later taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A worldwide manhunt took place to see who killed him. The killer was found at London Heathrow Airport and was arrested.
