“By changing the internal state of mind, people can change the outer aspects of their life.” As once said by William James, by changing my state of mind and pursuing a spot in the National Junior Honor Society, I can better many aspects of my life. Not only will it help to improve my academic abilities, I will also work to improve myself as a person. To excel in life, I have confidence that a spot in the National Junior Honor Society will help me prosper in my current education, better myself as a person, and become a more active member of the school.

Although the education at Troy South Middle School is not limited, a spot in the National Junior Honor Society will allow me to prosper past the current expectations. While many students are trying to meet the bare minimum and just pass classes without putting much effort in, I want to pass the expectations and put more effort than most students in my work. I don't want to just learn the basic lessons of when or where things happen. The most important lessons come from learning why it happened, how it affects our lives today, and the meaning behind the events.
