During the journey, Christopher brings Toby with him to London. In the train station, he sees Toby is eating on the rails, so he quickly leaves the platform and grabbed Toby in his hand to avoid Toby escapes again. However, when the train is coming, he makes sure Toby doesn’t to the runaway first instead of climb up onto the platform.
Toby not only just a pet for Christopher, it’s more like the best friend or a family member. He is nervous when his pet was lost. Therefore, I decided to make a portfolio to illustrate my understanding of my chosen statement. This M.I assignment shows Christopher is a socially awkward teenager who tries to isolate from the society by 3 specify example. Firstly, I use Toby as an example to shows Christopher is lonely and always isolate himself to the society. He doesn’t feel comfortable on expands his social circle, so it causes he doesn’t have the experience to express and explain his thoughts to other people, expect his teacher, Siobhan. Secondly, he often refuses or avoids other people's close when he really needs help. He is extremely sensitive when people are touching him and come close to him, so he chose to walk away most of the time. However, during the journey, he panics a zealous woman who wants to help him instead of leaving this time. He is autistic, so talk to strangers is really challenging for him.
