Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Sea of Monsters written by Rick Riordan was a great book. The second one of its set, and definitely one of the best. This jaw dropping novel is nothing but excitement. It makes you want to read on and on and by no time you're near the ending.
This book starts off with Percy, the main character, who is a thirteen year old demi-god enjoying his last day of the school year. He just wanted to go on finishing his last day of school because after he would be going on to camp half blood for the summer, his favorite place to be. He is a 13 year old demi god who is the son of Poseidon. Another main character is Annabeth, she is also a 13 year old demi god but she is the daughter of Athena, and Annabeth is a good friend of Percy's. Grover who is a Satyr and has been sent by the gods to protect Percy is also a main character in this novel. The Cyclops, Tyson, also known as brother of Percy and Son of Poseidon is also a main character in this novel. All of these characters have their own traits. Percy was smart. Annabeth was a great fighter. Grover was very funny. Tyson was silly but also strong. One thing that all of these characters shared was their bravery. They were all extremely brave. If someone else from camp was sent to get the golden fleece in the sea of monsters they may have got very scared or said no. These group of characters didn't get chosen yet they went on their own risk. I think what motivated them to go and get the golden fleece was the fact that Grover was trapped and in a dangerous situation. They would have went anyways but this made them two times more willing to go on the
