Personal Narrative: A Career In High School

Growing up, my grandmother expected me to be some kind of big shot lawyer. For a good minute, I actually came to think that I want to be one as well. Growing up I felt as if I did not have any passions. I always tried to fit in for anything that was trending and tried to convince myself that it was a passion, but it really wasn't. I have not considered myself to be talented before. I felt like a follower. I did not grow up being sporty, artistic, or musically gifted. For starters, I hated sports. I never was ever a fan of sports. I did not consider myself to be artistic either, due to the fact of not being able to even draw, and if I did most likely it would be based off stick figures. Also, the closest I got into music is probably just a recorder in first grade. I wanted to join band in middle school, but that never really caught my attention entirely to follow through. The one that caught my attention was Yearbook. When the administration began to hand out the sheet to choose our elective classes, the first one I chose was Yearbook then Theater. When I went to validation for my first year in high school, I was so excited to see what my elective classes were going to be aside from my regular core classes. When I received the schedule the first thing that I saw was, Theater. I hungered Yearbook, but since in eighth grade I took Drama, it would make sense why the administration placed me in Theater instead of Yearbook Production. I did not chase the elective, I figured it be fun, but I did not take it seriously. I was trying to stay positive and not really be down and dumps. I figured I can just try next
