My parents have struggled financially, but for as long as I can remember I’ve never experienced what having “no food on the table” actually feels like. Growing up with four other siblings and me being the middle child has made me responsible in many areas, because I’m expected to learn from previous mistakes and demonstrate to the younger ones how to correct them. My life all put together has been shaped by seeing what family members, as well as those surrounding me, have done in order to be where they are today; And in ways motivated me to keep going or made me avoid certain things to not end up in similar situations. Being raised by parents who never received any type of education, yet have had higher expectations than what I thought I could accomplish is something that really shaped me into who I am today. …show more content…
I want to go to school and not have to decide whether my babysitter will be available for me to attend class, because I was raised in a family where you put your life together financially, and then you continue with what is next to come to, which avoid situations similar to what my sister experienced. My older brother is a college dropout and my duty as the middle child is to show the younger ones how to push through it and accomplish what our parent know we’re capable to accomplish. I saw my parents struggle financially many years ago and I learned from that, because if someone with no degree was able to overcome those road bumps, picture how much more someone with an education can
