Bullying has become a big issue in high school. Kids getting picked on for the littlest things, including what they wear. At the beginning of every school year the school sends out a questionnaire asking if parents would like school uniforms in public school. If schools gave school uniforms a chance, then the bullying will possibly go down. School uniforms have been a topic for many years and there is very little process on it. School uniforms not only could lower money, also control dress code, and make for easier mornings. There has been a big issue with parents saying they will have to spend more money on uniforms. In reality it will help them save money. These days’ teenagers have to buy the latest trends to keep up with everyone around school. These trends tend to cost around $200. With school uniforms parents will only have to buy three to four sets that their kids wear for at most 180 days a year. With school uniforms there will be no more back to school shopping, spending at least $300 when parents can save more money buying school uniforms. “School uniforms are designed to stand up to everyday wear and repeated washing so most parents find that they can get away with buying a few sets” (Kouzmine). A way to avoid this issue is school uniforms. Boys will stay focused on school work instead of how short a girls skirt is. Chris Hammons principle of Woodland Middle school said “Take that [clothing choices] off the table and put the focus on school, not what you’re wearing.” (Rakow). There has been many studies done to prove that school uniforms help improve test score and children focus more. School uniforms have a better impact due to children not being so distracted on what someone else is wearing. If school want to see better academic scores, then school uniforms are a positive
