School Shooting Research Paper

School shooters attack schools because they get bullied or receive hate. They want to get back at those who neglected them and made them feel like they did not belong. Eventually, hatred begins to build up which makes them want to take it out on others. The three main motives of school shootings consist of taking anger out on others, getting physically and mentally abused at home, and wanting to do it because others are doing it. Perpetrators of school shootings get the motivation to hurt those who have treated them incorrectly. They want to take their anger out on everyone who did not treat them with kindness and have pushed them away as humans. A lot of perpetrators just want attention for their actions since they never receive it at home. The attention they receive after committing crimes makes them feel important and known. The PDF “The School Shooter” states “If something bothers him, he has to settle it in his way.” This talks about how if a shooter becomes bothered, they will handle it in a way that can make them feel better about themselves. Once they receive the attention they seek, the attention will make them feel as if everyone is paying attention to them. A big reason why perpetrators of school shootings do what they do is because they see it on social media.
