MARTINSBURG - The Honorable Judge Thomas W. Steptoe Jr., senior status judge, has been recalled to serve the 23rd Judicial Circuit to fill the vacancy following Monday's retirement of the Honorable Judge Gray Silver III. Chief Justice Allen H. Loughry II of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia signed an administrative order recalling Steptoe on Thursday.

"In consideration of the heavy caseload in the 23rd Judicial Circuit and to prevent undue delay in trials, hearings and the general delivery of court services to the people of the 23rd Judicial Circuit, and to provide timely access to the courts, the Chief Justice deems it necessary to assign a senior status judge to preside in the 23rd Judicial Circuit until a successor is appointed
