Teenagers in America are getting fatter and fatter. Obesity rates are rising up every year and a lot of teenagers are part of these statistics. Other countries have stereotyped that Americans are fat which is true and it’s our own fault. In this research, there are four major factors that will determine a teenager’s overall health. The important factors are sleep, brain development, nutrition, and exercise. Having a good knowledge about these things can help me and other teenagers improve their health

Adequate and strenuous activity improves physical and mental health. To achieve a high percent of healthy teens there need to be more parents involved by encouraging and working with them. Most common type of exercise is Aerobic. This includes sports like soccer, swimming, etc. Aerobic exercise expands the breathing rate and upgrades the flow of oxygen through the body. Strength training is another physical activity where muscles grow stronger. These activities include pushups, pullups, squats, etc. Weight gain can be easily avoided and toned body parts are easier to build if the right amount if exercise is done. There are also multiple diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure there are widespread between teenagers. getting these diseases can be prevented by exercising more. Not everyone is the same, some people might have to do more intense workouts to stay in a healthy weight. Endorphins are chemicals produced give an unpleasant feeling to the body. Physical activity helps the endorphin production in the body. Teenagers will also make better decisions and better grades at school. There are a lot of nutrients the body needs to function well. Teenagers that are active require 2,200 to 3,000 calories daily. The first nutrient is carbohydrates, which has sugars and starches and can be found in rice, potatoes, cereals, etc. They provide good nutrients like potassium which balanced the fluid in the body. Most of a person's calorie intake daily are carbohydrates. The second nutrient is proteins and they give out energy and they fix tissues in the body. The third essential nutrient is fat, they are something everyone requires. They are responsible for the construction of nerve cells and production of hormones. Fat also helps the vitamin absorption in the body. Another two essential nutrients are vitamins and minerals and getting these naturally from food is better than supplements. With this in mind, the nutritional needs of a teen differ from an adult because they are growing. Teens need to consume nutrient-rich foods for their growth. Water and fiber are necessary for good digestion. They prevent constipation and diarrhea. Liquids like beer and coffee are bad for you because they carry caffeine and alcohol. Another important nutrient is iron. Teenagers need this more than adults, boys need it for muscle development and girls need it for menstruation.
