Volunteering is very important in society. It is through voluntary work that nonprofit organizations are able to continue with their efforts of assisting the needy. These organizations have to continuously invent new ways of ensuring that they progress to get as many volunteers as possible. As a result, there have been emergent trends in volunteerism. One such trend has been micro-volunteering, which is the thesis for this paper. The rates of volunteering continue to be steady. However, the methods that individuals use to volunteer are changing. Our world as of now is fast paced; everything has to be done within a short period of time. Most potential volunteers feel that they do not have a lot of time to engage in voluntary work. Hence, despite having the will they are compelled not to engage in volunteerism. Most voluntary activities demand a stable dedication of time to engage in voluntary activities. For instance, an individual can decide to engage in volunteerism during the weekend or set aside a specific day for such work. A volunteer working as an unpaid employee is involved in a full-time job, meaning that they have to spend a lot of time at their place of work. Increasing financial needs and crisis are pushing people to take up extra jobs in order to cater for their family needs. Others have been pushed into late retirement to ensure that they continue to work and make money to meet their daily needs. In addition, most individuals are taking care of their aging parents, while at the same time having the burden of providing for their children. This can only mean that people are already burdened with their financial needs.
