The English came to the New World, claimed the land. They had thought to be the only ones there this caused many problems. For they were not [the only ones there]. A young fellow [John Smith] quickly finds an Indian group, and gets himself in a jingle. The emperors [leader of Indian group] daughter [Pocahontas] is thought to have saved him. Did she really? Yes, Pocahontas did save John Smith, and is later given credit & confirmation by Smith himself. Smith was almost killed but Pocahontas stopped this event dead in its tracks. “I [Smith] was dragged by my hands.. Them ready to beat my brains..” (Smith).
