Is letting these juveniles out freely when committing a murder simple or keeping them in an adult prison for the rest of their life unreasonable or traumatizing? The supreme court ordered that juveniles who committed murders could not be sentenced to life in prison since it contravene with the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition on cruel and abnormal punishment, however four justices greatly contradicted, arguing that binding sentences reflected the will of American society that abominable crimes pledged by juveniles should always be imprisoned with a sentence to life in prison.
