Stress Last year, I did not get a nursing position at my current facility, so I decided to return to school. I had no desire to return school at the time but the reason I did not get the position was that I did not have a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree. It took a lot of consideration but once I decided that I would return to school, I wanted to do it in a timely manner. My goal was to complete the BSN program in one year. I also decided to pay for the tuition myself rather than take out a student loan. The decision to return to school and paying out pocket added an enormous amount to stress to my life. There are certain factors of this decision that I have control over. I am the person who decided that I want to complete the program in a one-year period. I determine how many classes to take in a semester and which classes to take. I also control how much studying time I want to devote to studying and doing homework. The largest stressors I have experience is balancing time between my family, work and school. Some weeks, there are activities at my daughter’s preschool that require parental attendance. Occasionally, I have doctors appoints, work meetings and errands to run. A situation that is beyond my control is the grading discrepancy between different instructors. Two different instructors may give me different grades for same assignment I turn in. I also have no control over unexpected expenses. Recently, I had some car trouble and had to bring it to the body shop for repairs, otherwise run the risk for further damaging my car if not
