A reason to pursue this career is because the salary and wages are well, and earning more than enough to help survive. Although most soccer players would consider staying near home to play, others take the opportunity to travel around the globe and experience the different cultures the world has to offer. Another reason to pursue this career is because many professionals have a passion and dedication towards the sport they play. Many athletes pursue this career because of the feeling they get when competing against some of the best competitors in the sport they play. Professional athletes are human beings who participate in officiated and organized sporting events to entertain spectators (“Athletes and Sport Competitors”). Necessary job skills are coaching, physical training and interpersonal skills (“Professional Athlete, Team Sports” 168). Another necessary job skill is to be committed because coaches needed players who are willing to be committed to the sport and not give up on improving (“Professional Athlete”). Some acceptable special job skills that could improve the chances of getting hired are to be conventional and be a hands-on kind of person (“Professional Athlete, Team Sports” 168). A special job skill that is also wanted by coaches is athleticism because it shows how hardworking a person could be (“Athlete and Sport …show more content…
Courses that could possibly be taken in the high school or college level are business, health, and physical education (“Professional Athlete, Team Sports” 168). An action of required training should be mandatory practice whether it is alone or with a team mate (“Athlete and Sport Competitors”). Required certifications are not needed for all sports but there are sports that could possibly ask for training certification (“Athlete and Sport
