Why teachers should not have guns in school

In recent years, issues about arming teachers in the classroom have led to many problems, arguments, and disputes. Although some people say arming teachers can boost the school's safety, from countless perspectives, no teacher should be allowed to have guns in school for many reasons. One reason is the escalation of accidents or misuse of firearms. Arming teachers can also have an effect on a student's focus. Even though some people may say giving teachers firearms will reduce the fatal aftermath of shootings. Arming teachers will cause uncertainty of welfare among fellow students.

Escalation of accidents

First, a major concern about arming teachers would be an escalation in accidents caused by firearms in the classroom, according to the National Education Association. (2018, March, 5) Arming teachers is not the answer; it’s stated that “The idea that we can reduce gun violence in schools by bringing even more guns into schools is ludicrous and dangerous. A study by the American Psychological Association. The Council of Representatives states that the “mere presence of firearms can create an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among students” that can distract the ability to learn and may lead to trauma as well as stress. Example, A student could get a hold of a weapon for themselves, putting more people at risk with bad intentions, The classroom should be a safe place where students can learn and not have to worry about a teacher being distracted or falsely alarmed. There should never be a presence of danger in the classroom when it should be a peaceful learning
