On this day, millions of kids will go to school all around the world. Most people think it is the safest place a child can go. What people don’t realize is not every child gets to return back home to their families. We know that teenagers and children are being exposed to violent movies, video games, TV shows, the news, and the biggest one the internet. The violence is getting in the minds of the children and teenagers and its causing the outbreak of school shootings. There could also be other problems that pull the trigger of school shootings too. Some people say that “most students lose their mind when they are being exposed to violence” (“Are violent movies and video games…”). People are always playing these violent games and watching these violent movies and forgetting what reality is really about. Teenagers do this because they think it is the “cool” thing to do and it helps them fit it. This problem can also lead to a more tragic worriment such as bullying. Bullying happens because of a student not being “cool”. Bullying is a common thing during our generation and it’s ridiculous. Bullying is like harassment, discrimination, and violence that people use to make fun of one another. Many results show that the child being bullied gets pushed to his or her limit and can’t take much more. The child usually goes crazy and wants to find a way to get back at the bully. Doing something to get back at the bully is always a bad choice of things. These kind of things is what causes tragic problems such as school shootings. This cause isn’t as strong as the other causes we predicted. Most of the time, a child with a mental illness doesn’t really understand the concept of most things. Decades of research have shown the link between mental disorders and violent behaviors is a small amount and not useful for predicting violent acts (Lurie). People with severe mental illnesses are more likely to be the victim of the violence, not being the person who is really causing the problem.
