In the book, A Long Walk to Water, by Linda Sue Park, the main character, a lad named Salva, learns that when you have enough hope and perseverance, anything's possible. The story is mainly about how Salva survives an escape from war, and how he led twelve hundred boys to Kenya's refugee camps. It was really difficult, yet Salva overcame all these challenges.
One of the earliest challenges that Salva faces, is that he becomes separated from his family due to war, and has no adult looking after him. Luckily, he meets many people who are willing to help him. He meets an old woman and she helps him out in a vast way.
