The visual outline of the sterile and the white-wash walls became ever more prominent. The antiseptic scent perfuse throughout the walls and all of the corridors. Patients in hospital gowns, and personnel’s coming in and out of the room. The sights were reminiscent of my last conscious moment before my wisdom tooth operation when I was a child. (Doesn’t set the mood, change it )
“Excuse me, are you Michael?” the administration personnel look at me with her warm, welcoming voice. I nodded dazedly and she usher me to a particular room that which it clearly said, staffroom. I assume that she is introducing me to the members working in that particular branch of medical science and possibly, introduce to my mentor which I’m going to be trained with. Instead, I was met with a group of students doing placements. I introduced myself to the group and talked for a while until a white sheet was given to us. Peering at the sheet, I was assigned to be with an elderly patient that has been comatose for a year, after an unfortunate incident that led to a brain trauma.
The location of the patient was made easy and obvious thanks to the clarity of the letters and numbers above each room. My patient was in U07. I breathe and exhale deeply, muttering to myself
