While qualities such as effective communication, responsibility, and strong clinical skills are important, through my own clinical experience, I have seen that compassion, integrity, and commitment to learning are all qualities that are essential for success as a physical therapist.
Physical therapists must be compassionate. Patients seeking physical therapy are looking to restore, maintain, or improve their ability to physically function.
