Right Way To Spank Children

The methods of parenting and the proper ways discipline children have been debated and argued over for many years; Weather the right way is to spank your children or to try and talk to them. In my personal opinion, discipline can be most effective when a child is spanked, only when spanking is necessary, and learns from their mistakes. Furthermore, if a child is not told what they did wrong, the discipline was for nothing. The counter argument, is that spanking children causes a disconnection between the child and the parent and can causes problems later on in the child’s adolescence. I believe that in today’s world–where children are often more dis-respectful and not well behaved–it goes back to their parents’ discipline methods or their lack of.
What is the main goal of discipline and consequences? Parents discipline their kids to make them remember that all of their actions have consequences, may they be good or bad. If a child is not told what they did wrong and just punishment, then it will have been for nothing.

When I was little, like every other adolescent, I would misbehave and be cognizant of it. My parents would bring me inside and spank me. At one point, my dad made me go pick a branch off of a tree, and bring it back to him. This would be the stick that he would use to give me a spanking. I would beg and plead for him not to spank me, though all fighting it would cause me was another swat. However, my mom and dad would not just spank me and tell me to go on; They would spank me, and then tell me what I did wrong.
